About the Role:
Sylvan Learning is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all payments
- Supervise, mentor, and develop AP team members to maintain a high-performing department
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports in accordance with company policy
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve billing discrepancies, and negotiate payment terms
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and analyze AP aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and month-end close activities
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline AP workflows and increase efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, finance, and operations teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, AP best practices, and internal controls
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage vendor and stakeholder relationships
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
